I began my creative life as a writer of poetry, and have recently felt the lack of poetry in daily world. I decided to make work inspired by some of my favorite poems.

The title of this piece comes from a beloved Robert Creeley poem I Know a Man: ". . . the darkness surrounds us, what can we do against it, or else. . . ." We can peer into it, as through a window, stand up to it, link arms and sing. We can make art.
